Mobile esports game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been named the exclusive women’s esports title for the 2024 Asian Esports Games.

Organised by the Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) and sanctioned by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), the event takes place from November 25th to 27th in Bangkok, Thailand.

Asian Esports Games’ Mobile Legends: Bang Bang segment will feature a total of 20 national teams from across Asia and the Middle East. The all-female event will include first-time participants from Nepal, Mongolia and Tajikistan.

The 2024 Asian Esports Games will see China’s women’s team take part in a global esports competition in Southeast Asia for the first time to demonstrate the growing presence of female esports in the region.

According to a release, the tournament aims to ‘set a new standard for diversity in women’s esports’ by providing women with more opportunities to compete in regional esports tournaments.

Alongside Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the Asian Esports Games will also feature eFootball Mobile (open category) and Arena of Valor (open category).

Throughout 2024, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports has continued to grow at an impressive rate. In June, MOONTON Games expanded its existing deal with Qiddiya to expand its ecosystem on a global scale. In October, the game was announced as the headline title for the 2025 SEA Games taking place in Thailand’s capital city.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystems at MOONTON Games, spoke on the news: “This year’s Asian Esports Games marks another huge milestone for women’s esports.

“The representation of 20 regions in the MLBB women’s tournament exemplifies our commitment to diversity and the dedication of AESF and TESF in creating a competitive platform that encourages inclusivity globally. We are thrilled to witness the strengthening of the esports ecosystem with more countries embracing women’s esports, allowing the MLBB community to continue breaking boundaries.”

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
