The Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) 2025 Winter Split has shattered its previous viewership record, peaking at 177,121 viewers, according to data platform Esports Charts.

The record was achieved during the series between NORD Esports and Los Ratones, a team created by League of Legends personality and popular streamer Marc Robert ‘Caedrel’ Lamont.

The sudden rise in NLC’s viewership can be equated to various notable players and personalities entering League of Legends’ Nordics and UK league. Los Ratones’ line-up includes popular esports players and streamers such as Carl Martin Erik ‘Rekkles‘ Larsson, Tim ‘Nemesis‘ Lipovšek, and Simon ‘Thebausffs‘ Hofverberg.

Meanwhile, the team’s opponents, NORD Esports include former LEC pros like Lucas ‘Santorin‘ Tao Kilmer Larsen, Matthew ‘xMatty‘ Charles Coombs and Erik ‘Treatz‘ Wessén.

Before the start of the 2025 Winter Split, the league’s highest peak viewership ever was 14,023 viewers in the NLC 2022 Summer Split.

According to Esports Charts, Caedrel contributed to more than 50% of the total viewership on NLC’s opening day (January 15th), peaking on his own Twitch channel at 98,842 viewers and an impressive 76,594 average.

As of this writing, Esports Charts has yet to publicly disclose the viewership of NLC Winter Split’s viewership from yesterday.

Following years of declining interest in the competition, the NLC is bouncing back with Los Ratones and a revamped ecosystem. The increasing interest in the league has also allowed the NLC to secure a naming partnership with Swedish chair company Arozzi.

Aside from Los Ratones, the NLC is the home to another streamer-based team, The Ruddy Sack, led by esports personalities Christian ‘IWDominate’ Rivera and Jake ‘DonJake’ Morley, as well as League of Legends coach Jakob ‘YamatoCannon’ Mebdi.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
