The inaugural BLAST Bounty Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark has recorded a peak viewership of 693,780, according to esports data platform Esports Charts.
The BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Grand Final between Team Spirit and Eternal Fire was the most popular series at the competition, with the former walking out victorious.
The $500,000 (~£400,500) event has also recorded an impressive debut from a viewership perspective, becoming the tournament organiser’s sixth most popular BLAST Counter-Strike competition. The company’s most popular event is still the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, which peaked at 1.5m viewers.
Whilst Team Spirit won the event, the team that generated the most hours watched throughout the competition was Eternal Fire. The Turkish esports organisation recorded a total of 5.6m hours watched during BLAST Bounty Spring. In second place was Team Spirit, generating 5.3m hours.
Overall, BLAST’s CS2 event recorded 22.28m hours across its over 91-hour run time.
Despite not recording the most hours watched, the BLAST Bounty Spring champion was the most popular organisation when it came to average viewers. The Belgrade-based esports organisation averaged 411,100 viewers during the competition, with NAVI placing second in this metric (243,626).
Replacing the tournament organiser’s BLAST Premier ecosystem, the BLAST Bounty series is new in 2025 following a change in Valve’s tournament rules. The open tournament was already off to a notable start in the event’s Closed Qualifiers, with Imperial Fe versus NAVI becoming the most-watched match featuring a female Counter-Strike team.
Team Spirit won BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 by defeating Team Vitality, NAVI and Eternal Fire in the playoffs. Team Spirit’s star player Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets was named the MVP of the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Finals.
The esports organisation has continued to ride on the momentum it garnered throughout 2024, which culminated in winning the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Despite just winning the BLAST competition, Team Spirit will be back in action very soon as IEM Katowice 2025 is set to commence on January 29th.
