Sentinels is set to compete in its fourth Masters event, VALORANT Masters Bangkok, following an outstanding performance at Americas Kickoff 2025.
However, for the first time, the team will set foot on the international stage without its star player, Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo, after he announced his retirement in 2024.
TenZ was the longest-serving member of Sentinels and the first North American player to win VALORANT Masters twice, both times with the American org. Establishing himself as one of the best duelists in his early VALORANT competitive career, he later transitioned into an impactful controller and initiator for the team.
In a pre-event press conference, Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro was asked about Sentinels’ expectations for VALORANT Masters Bangkok without TenZ being on the roster.
“I think we’re gonna be good,” Zellsis said. “I’ve said before in an interview that this Sentinels roster has the highest skill ceiling we’ve ever had in terms of potential.”
He continued: “Obviously, TenZ is a phenomenal player and an X-factor, but we have our own little X-factor here [looking towards N4RRATE], so that void is filled.”
Sentinels faced difficulties after the departures of TenZ and Sacy, struggling with consistency during the 2024 off-season. However, things eventually fell into place as the team secured its spot at Masters Bangkok, with young talents Marshall ‘N4RRATE’ Massey and Sean ‘Bang’ Bezerra stepping up to complete the roster.
“It’s amazing to qualify for Masters, especially considering the identity crisis we went through in the off-season while testing things,” said Zellsis.
“I think we got a little lucky with our roster moves, bringing in N4RRATE and Bang—both incredibly talented and hungry to win. Given the short time we’ve had as a team and how young we are, qualifying this early is a blessing. Honestly, I’m just happy to be here.”
