Mobile esports organisation Tribe Gaming has announced a sponsorship with Razer as the exclusive phone and headset partner for all Tribe teams.

Along with a peripheral deal, the two will create a docuseries that will follow Tribe’s Vainglory team as they look to defend their World Championship title.

Tribe Vainglory-2017 World Champions

Tribe Gaming was founded in 2017 by mobile gaming content creator Patrick “Chief Pat” Carney to house teams exclusively in mobile esports.

Carney commented on the partnership: “Working with Razer is a milestone moment for Tribe, and I’m excited about the opportunity to not only partner through their world-class product but also in showcasing the world of mobile esports. Mobile esports is seeing explosive growth right now, so I look forward to working with the Razer team to keep pushing the industry forward and exposing it to new fans globally.”

Min-Liang Tan, Razer Co-Founder and CEO said: “The addition of Tribe Gaming to Team Razer further underscores our commitment to mobile esports. I’m a fan of Chief Pat and OJ, and I look forward to watching them dominate this year with the added performance of Razer Phones in-hand.”

Along with Vainglory, Tribe has a team in Fortnite Mobile and Clash Royale which will compete in the North American region for the inaugural season of the Clash Royale league.

Recently at media day for the Clash Royale League Carney discussed with Esports Insider plans for expansion thanks to the partnership with Razer and entering CRL: “It’s a really good time for expansion for us and we have some other titles that we’re looking at. Arena of Valor is wrapping up their season right now and there’s a lot of buzz around PUBG Mobile. The last two weeks have been really big for us because we have this new flagship sponsorship from Razer and we’re getting prepared for CRL. We want to scale aggressively with mobile so we can be the leaders in the space.”

Among sponsorships with major organisations like Seoul Dynasty and Gen.G esports, Razer also sponsors Team Queso, another mobile-only focused organisation which will compete in the European region in the Clash Royale League. Last year Razer was also the title sponsor for the Vainglory World Championship.

Esports Insider says: Tribe is one of the few organisations in the world that caters exclusively to mobile gaming and with Razer making a clear push in the mobile direction, this partnership fits quite well. The partnership spell trouble for Tribe’s Clash Royale team as the league mandates matches to be played on exclusively Apple products.
