Toronto to reportedly house the newest Overwatch League team

A fourth expansion slot is reportedly close to being secured, with Toronto being the latest location to be added to the Overwatch League.

It’s stated that final negotiations are taking place between Activision Blizzard and a group led by Michael Kimel. The franchise will be operated by Splyce, which will also own 10%.

Supercell launches Clash Royale League with $1m prize

The Clash Royale League is fast approaching, with teams from North America, Europe, China, Asia, and Latin America all battling it out on the popular mobile title.

At the end of the inaugural season – which commences next week – the top teams will compete at the World Championship for the lion’s share of the $1m (£783,000) prize pool.

Hi-Rez Studios launches individual development studios

Hi-Rez Studios

Hi-Rez Studios has divided itself, launching three wholly-owned development studios for each of its titles.

Titan Forge Games has been created to operate SMITE, Evil Mojo Games will operate Paladins, and Realm Royale will be handled by Heroic Leap Games.

FACEIT, PUBG Corp. partner for online PUBG leagues

FACEIT PUBG

Competitive gaming platform FACEIT has announced a new online league and tournament system for PUBG, in partnership with its developer: PUBG Corp.

A progressive league system will be produced for the Battle Royale title, with a closed beta launching on August 17th. Tournaments and leagues can be created using custom rulesets and brackets, as well as “automatic stats and results fetching”.
