Season 16 leaks have revealed an upcoming Overwatch 2 collaboration with Gundam Wing that’s bringing new skins to fan-favourite heroes.

Season 16 has already arrived, bringing big changes like a new game mode. However, trusted leakers claim that there’s still more to come, including an Overwatch x Gundam Wing collaboration that’s been met with mixed reviews from players.

Season 16 is full of anime inspiration, with new skins referencing popular IPs like Sailor Moon. Now, it looks like the next skin bundle will be another anime-inspired collection, this time focused on the mecha genre, which has human piloted engaged in combat.

Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing Skins Leaked

The Gundam Wing collaboration was initially leaked back on March 28, 2025 on X by a dataminer going by Llamalaxy. It was later confirmed by trusted leaker OverwatchNaeri, a former Blizzard employee that’s been right on most occasions. Their post on April 22 included some of the cosmetics that would come when the collaboration launches.

The Gundam Wing collection is believed to be coming on April 25th, 2025. This would fall on Gundam Wing’s 30th anniversary.

The leaked skins include:

  • Mercy: Wing: Inspired by Gundam Wing protagonist Heero Yuy’s suit, which has flying capabilities
  • Ramattra: Heavyarms: Operation Meteor Gundam with a long range weapon
  • Reaper: Deathsythe: An assassin-type Gundam suit
  • Solder 76: Tallgeese: An early Gundam with heavy armor but a slower speed

It’s possible that the collaboration will include even more heroes as well as more cosmetics like icons, sprays and emotes that fit the theme. There could also be an event for the drop, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.

Overwatch 2 players immediately reacted with frustration at including yet another Mercy skin. As one of the most popular heroes, Mercy receives a lot of skins compared to other heroes. Still, players wondered why Pharah or Echo couldn’t get the flying Gundam suit as fellow airborne heroes who get less attention.

Despite the repetitive Mercy skins, Overwatch 2 players couldn’t help but find the skins appealing.

Blizzard has yet to announce the collaboration, but the company’s X account replied to Gundam Wing’s post about its upcoming anniversary, fueling the fire.
