The Los Angeles Thieves, an esports franchise owned by 100 Thieves, has won the 2025 Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 3 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Hosted by fellow CDL franchise Miami Heretics at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, LA Thieves dominated the grand final with a convincing victory over Vancouver Surge to become the second franchise to win a Major this season.

LA Thieves’ Road To Victory

Heading into the event as the top seed, LA Thieves began its campaign with a comfortable victory over the Carolina Royal Ravens before sweeping aside Miami Heretics to secure its place in the final of the winner’s bracket.

In recent months, Vancouver Surge broke away from the midfield pack and started to cement itself as one of the CDL’s best teams. In one of the closest matches of the entire event, the Thieves emerged victorious with a 3-2 win to book its place in its second final of 2025.

Vancouver would secure a rematch against LA in the final after it overcame a defiant Toronto Ultra roster, which was fielding a last-minute substitute after Ben ‘Beans’ McMellon encountered visa issues preventing his attendance.

The final itself wasn’t as close as the Thieves’ first encounter with the Surge. Clincal strategy and coordination saw LA secure a 4-0 sweep to win its first championship of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 cycle, halting Atlanta FaZe‘s run of dominance.

What Next For The Call of Duty League?

With Major 3 concluded, attention for LA Thieves and the eleven other franchises turns to the Major 4 qualifiers. Commencing on May 2nd until May 18th, 2025, the qualifiers will determine seeding for the final Major of the season.

For many franchises, a strong final Major could make the difference between securing a place at Championship Weekend and missing out on the biggest Call of Duty esports event of the year.
