Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise Cloud9 New York has overhauled its roster ahead of the league’s Major 4 qualifiers.

The change sees Dillon ‘Attach’ Price and Makenzie ‘Mack’ Kelley depart from the starting lineup alongside team analyst John ‘x2Pac ThuGLorD’ Hartley.

In a two-minute video posted on social media, the franchise said it was ‘grateful for the memories, contributions, and growth throughout the journey at Cloud9’.

As a result of the departures, former Boston Breach player Kenyen ‘Capsidal’ Sutton and Kris ‘Spart’ Cervantez will join the franchise as it looks to secure a place in the top eight, guaranteeing a place at the season-ending Championship Weekend.

Capsidal and Spart join Cloud9 New York after an impressive spell under the OMiT banner, competing in the North American Challengers circuit. Most recently, the team finished third at the Miami Challengers Open, taking home $16,000 (~£12,038) in prize money.

Despite showing glimpses of quality during CDL qualifiers and Majors, Cloud9 New York has struggled to contend against the best teams within the league. Major 3 saw the team score a top-12 placement, Cloud9’s lowest of the season so far.

Can Cloud9 New York Make Champs?

Cloud9 New York currently sits in tenth place with 105 CDL Points to its name.

With 10 points awarded for a victory during the online qualifiers and more distributed for high LAN placements, there’s a chance the new roster can make a run into the top eight if other franchises faulter.

The gap between tenth and eighth is 40 points and with the competition so close towards the bottom of the table, Cloud9 New York has to find form quickly in order to qualify for the biggest tournament of the Call of Duty esports season.

The Call of Duty League 2025: Stage 4 Major Qualifiers are set to commence later today (May 2nd), with Cloud9 starting the competition against Vegas Falcons. This year, the Major is being hosted at DreamHack Dallas.
