North American esports organisation Complexity has announced that it will be exiting the Apex Legends esports scene after six years of competitive play.
Since entering the scene in 2019, the esports organisation has had a long history of highs and lows with the battle royale game, from the FACEIT Pro Series to ALGS. Due to its tenure in Apex Legends, the organisation became a community favourite in the esports scene.
Looking Back at Complexity’s Apex Legends Run
In the announcement, Complexity reflected on its biggest highlights in the past six years. It noted how it signed Apex Legends pillars such as James ‘KIMCHILEE‘ Lee and Bowen ‘Monsoon‘ Fuller, who have won 2025 events such as the Ascended Series Week 1.
It also lists the variety of tournaments it has attended. Complexity last attended the ALGS 2024 Championships in Sapporo, which took place from January 29th to February 2nd. Complexity placed sixth overall, bringing home $100,000 (~£78,000) in winnings.
Before then, the organisation regularly competed across various S-tier events in 2023 and 2024, such as ALGS’ Split playoffs. The team’s most notable achievement occurred in 2020 when it won North America’s ALGS Autumn Circuit Playoffs.
Complexity said on social media: “Today, we’re saddened to announce our exit from Apex Legends. We’ll be keeping a watchful eye on the scene, but for now, a great chapter in our history comes to an end. Thank you to the fans for all your support these last 6 years.”
Various organisations, including the official Apex Legends Esports account, were saddened by the announcement and bid farewell to Complexity.
Complexity hinted that a return to the scene is possible in the future, but the organisation is ready to hang up the Apex Legends jersey for now. The organisation is still active in other scenes, such as Counter Strike, Rocket League and Halo.
“We’ve signed streamers and creators who represent an incredible community, and with them we’ve highlighted Apex in our content and partnerships over the years,” Complexity wrote in the announcement.
“We’ve attended championships, most recently placing 6th in Sapporo. From ALGS to BLGS, from FACEIT Pro Series and BFC to Oversight and Series E, we’ve been here to welcome every new legend and embrace each new meta shift.”
