The fee paid for the slot is undisclosed, with rumours indicating that it is “roughly six figures”. The North American team are no stranger to esports, however. They have players and talent in Hearthstone, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, FGC and FIFA 17.

Tempo Storm was originally setup as a guide site for Hearthstone but has been in the esports space for a little while. As shown by the titles aforementioned, they currently have several rosters across multiple Blizzard titles. It’s not the first time that they’ve tried to enter the League of Legends scene either, but it seems that finally they’ve had some success.

It’s not the only slot that will be sold, with a minimum of five to be sold by the end of the year.

Esports Insider says: Due to the way that Riot structure the League of Legends esports scene, this is nothing particularly unusual. As we’ve mentioned, there are likely to be a minimum of five slots that become available and different esports teams will move in and out of the space. Tempo Sport have not made many moves into the “big” esports (Dota 2, LoL or CS:GO) thus far so we wish them the best of luck going forward.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
