France-based esports company Stakrn has entered a strategic partnership with SportVEST, a blockchain-based venture capital fund.
The aim of the deal is to aid SportVEST in identifying and evaluating potential esports investment opportunities and their readiness to receive funding.
Stakrn is a web platform that connects business-to-business players in the esports and video game industries. Additionally, it runs Stakrn Agency, an international esports agency for brands, investors, and sports clubs. The company also has an event organisation service.
Here’s what was said about the partnership in the announcement: “The vision and passion for esports, blockchain and tokenization and a common interest is what brings SportVEST and Stakrn together, who both remain committed to growing and investing in the futures of sports.”
In May of this year, Stakrn launched an UK arm of its business with the appointment of John Armstrong to the company’s Advisory Board. Stakrn saw it necessary to expand into the United Kingdom because it receives a “large number of inquiries from orgs looking for advice on how to find investment or sponsorship.”

Esports Insider says: Stakrn appears to do absolutely everything – it can be a tad overwhelming (see: confusing) from an outside perspective – but it does seem to be trying to help grow the esports industry a little with moves such as this.
