League of Legends organisation T1 has donated ₩63.74m (~£37,500) to Make-A-Wish Korea through proceeds from its special edition WishMaker jersey sales.

The Korean organisation held a donation ceremony at its Seoul headquarters, presenting funds raised through the ‘WishMakers Wanted’ campaign that launched in April 2025. The initiative supports wish fulfilment for children with critical illnesses.

According to the announcement, T1 will install a ‘WishMaker dedication frame’ at its headquarters featuring the names of all customers who purchased the Make-A-Wish jerseys. The special jerseys, inspired by a wish-granting star, were designed to embody the campaign’s meaning.

Josh Woongki Ahn, COO of T1, commented: “This donation is a heartwarming example that has become an opportunity to spread positive influence in society. We were able to add greater meaning through participation for children together with our fans.”

The partnership marks T1’s latest charitable initiative following its pink jersey campaign from approximately two years ago, which raised funds for the Korea Breast Health Foundation to support breast cancer awareness.

Faker’s Philanthropy

T1’s star player Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok has established his own reputation for philanthropy alongside the organisation’s efforts. The five-time World Champion has made multiple donations to Community Chest of Korea, including a contribution of ~£17,800.

In April 2025, Faker donated ~£27,100 to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, he made several contributions to related charities supporting those affected by the crisis.

T1 and Faker are not the only ones that have integrated charitable initiatives into their operations. Epic Foundation launched its ‘Esports for Good’ charitable programme in March 2024, securing Ubisoft as an early participant. The initiative aims to leverage the esports industry’s reach for social impact.

In May 2024, NAVI donated ~£96,100 from its CS2 Major winnings to support Ukraine, demonstrating how competitive prize pools can be redirected toward humanitarian causes.

The WishMaker jersey sales represent T1’s commitment to utilising its platform and fanbase for charitable purposes, with the organisation stating its intention to continue seeking opportunities where esports can create positive social impact.
