FURIA has won FISSURE Playground 2 after defeating The MongolZ in a Grand Final that took almost six hours to complete.
The Brazilian esports organisation overcame the Mongolian side 3-2 to win its first LAN event in two years.
Victory over The MongolZ rounded off an impressive tournament for FURIA, which included wins against BLAST Open London champions G2 Esports and Team Falcons. FISSURE Playground 2 was the first time FURIA had secured a place in a Tier 1 Grand Final, since its appearance at the ECS Season 7 Finals in 2019.
Danil ‘molodoy‘ Golubenko and Mareks ‘YEKINDAR‘ Galinskis shone in the Grand Final, frequently making an impact when entering sites and pulling off clutches to keep FURIA alive. Two of the five maps went into overtime, making it one of the closest Counter-Strike 2 series of the season.
In addition to being the latest Tier 1 event winner, the result also earned FURIA valuable Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points that also confirmed the team’s place at November’s StarLadder Budapest Major.
FURIA has shown signs of steady improvement throughout the 2025 season as the organisation moved away from an all-Brazilian roster. In May, it scored fourth-place finishes at PGL Astana 2025 and BLAST Open London, along with a top-eight placement at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
A Busy CS2 Weekend
Since its launch in 2022, FISSURE has quickly established itself as a notable CS2 tournament organiser, attracting several of the world’s best teams to its events.
For the tournament organiser, attention turns to its third edition of FISSURE Playground taking place next April in Shenzhen, China.
Alongside FISSURE Playground 2, tournament organiser StarLadder hosted its first StarSeries event in six years. Ukrainian organisation NAVI emerged victorious after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Grand Final.
