Over the weekend, two new League of Legends champions were crowned, with Bilibili Gaming winning China’s LPL 2025 Split 3 and CTBC Flying Oyster victorious in the Pacific’s LCP Season Finals.
As a result of the organisation’s victories, both teams have secured their region’s highest seed possible for the upcoming League of Legends World Championship 2025 in October.

Bilibili Gaming Wins Thrilling Five-game Finals

China’s top League of Legends competition concluded its 2025 season in classic fashion, with a five-game series between Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and Top Esports.

In the end, it was Bilibili Gaming that walked out with the win after a back-and-forth 3-2 victory that saw the team’s jungler Zhao ‘Shadow’ Zhiqiang make history as the first-ever European LPL champion.

The Italian national joined BLG only in July from FunPlus Phoenix as part of the Chinese team’s experimental six-man roster. After constantly swapping with fellow Jungler Yang ‘Beichuan’ Ling throughout the playoffs, Closer was subbed in for game two following BLG’s opening loss.

After excelling in BLG vs Top Esports’ previous clash during the Upper Bracket final — which included a game 5 MVP performance — the former MAD Lions Jungler helped his side throughout the Grand Finals to secure the trophy. This will also be Closer’s first appearance at Worlds since 2020.

The series’ MVP though was BLG’s mid laner Zhuo ‘knight’ Ding, who recorded an impressive 27/10/46 KDA. As a result of the finals weekend, BLG has secured the elusive first seed for Worlds 2025, taking place in the organisation’s home region.

Top Esports, fresh from two five-game series losses against BLG, still has an opportunity to qualify for the World Championship. The team will face off against Invictus Gaming, JD Gaming and Weibo Gaming for the final two places. Anyone’s Legends has automatically secured the LPL’s second seed by securing the second-highest championship points, behind Split 3 winners BLG.

CTBC Flying Oyster Breezes Past Secret Whales

With all three LCP Worlds 2025 representatives decided earlier in the month, PSG Talon, Secret Whales and CTBC Flying Oyster all fought over the weekend to be crowned the best in the Pacific.

The lower bracket finals started off the weekend, with PSG Talon looking to secure an immediate rematch with CTBC in the Grand Finals. However, Secret Whales had other plans, beating the Taiwanese team 3-1. The organisation’s Vietnamese support player Đinh ‘Taki’ Anh Tài won the series’ MVP award with a 3/14/64 KDA.

However, despite Secret Whales’ impressive run to the finals, CTBC Flying Oyster’s performance in the Grand Finals continued to solidify the Taiwanese esports organisation as the best team in the LCP — and a potential dark horse at Worlds 2025.

The 3-0 series saw CTBC walk away with three sub-35-minute victories, ending an impressive 2025 campaign with all three LCP trophies (Season Finals, Mid-Season and Kickoff).

What’s Next?

With the LPL and LCP seasons coming to a close, all eyes from fans of these regions will be on the World Championship, set to commence on October 12th.

However, before that, there are still a few regional leagues that have yet to crown their final champions of the year. EMEA’s LEC, Korea’s LCK and the Merinca’s LTA have yet to conclude their final splits of the year.
