Karmine Corp has suspended its LEC Assistant Coach Žiga ‘Apples‘ Jereb following allegations of inappropriate behaviour.

As a result of the allegations, the French esports organisation will launch an internal investigation into the matter while the League of Legends coach is suspended.

Allegations first surfaced on social media on September 28th, 2025, claiming Apples’ behaviour was inappropriate when interacting with female supporters of the organisation, in addition to allegedly leaking information on scrims to fans.

Former Team Heretics player and LEC caster Jakob ‘Jackspektra’ Kepple has also alleged that Apples exploited his naivety to prevent him from joining other teams during the off-season.

“The club has become aware of potential issues concerning an employee that do not align with the standards of professionalism expected by the club,” said Karmine Corp in a statement.

“An internal investigation was initiated as soon as the first elements appeared. Pending the conclusion of this investigation, the employee has been suspended with immediate effect.”

Apples joined Karmine Corp in January 2024 as an assistant coach of Karmine Corp Blue, the organisation’s academy roster. In May 2024, he joined the main LEC roster. During his time as assistant coach, the team won the LEC 2025 Winter Playoffs.

Karmine Corp has yet to disclose the results of its investigation and whether Apples will remain part of the organisation’s League of Legends operations.

Suspensions In Esports

Suspensions surrounding inappropriate behaviour and integrity within the esports industry have become more frequent in 2025, as more organisations take a stance in punishing those who commit wrongdoing.

In September 2025, FlyQuest suspended top laner Gabriël ‘Bwipo’ Rau during the LTA Playoffs following remarks made regarding women’s ability to compete in professional esports events.

August saw FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) issue an indefinite suspension to Cai ‘Milkyway‘ Zi-Jun after allegedly violating the rules of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL).
