Everything to know ahead of the World of Warcraft AWC and MDI Grand Finals

Blizzard Entertainment has outlined plans for the Arena World Championship (AWC) and Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) Grand Finals, offering a first look at how World of Warcraft esports will wrap up The War Within Season 3.

According to the announcement, the AWC Grand Finals will take place from November 14th–16th, followed by the MDI Global Finals on November 21st–23rd. Both events will be streamed live on the official Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels.

Blizzard also confirmed that the 2026 editions of both tournaments will return to BlizzCon, sharing a promotional video on X (formerly Twitter) describing the event as a place of ‘competition,’ ‘celebration’ and ‘home.’

AWC Grand Finals

The AWC will kick off with a single-elimination gauntlet, determining the final team to qualify for the double-elimination Grand Finals bracket. Four teams from each region will then compete for the championship title and a share of the $220,000 (~£176,000) prize pool.

Matches begin at 10 a.m. PST on November 14th, featuring on-air talent Gillian ‘Eiya’ Long, Sid ‘Supatease’ Compston, Elliott ‘Venruki’ Venczel and Mohamed ‘Ziqo’ Beshir, with Isaac ‘Azael’ Cummings-Bentley and David ‘DMachine’ Hollings appearing as guest analysts.

Viewers can unlock the Ensemble: Violet Sweatsuit transmog set through Twitch Drops during the weekend. According to the release, co-streaming applications remain open ahead of the broadcast.

Updated team lists and bracket information will be available through Raider.IO.

MDI Global Finals

Running one week after the AWC, the MDI Global Finals will feature eight teams racing to push the highest keys under a keystone-pushing format. The team completing the highest-level keys during each series will advance.

The event starts at 9:45 a.m. PST on November 21st and includes a $300,000 (~£240,000) prize pool. On-air talent will include Tristan ‘Dratnos’ Killeen, Moira ‘Meeix’ (surname not publicly listed), Caroline ‘Naguura’ Forer, Rook ‘Rookuri’ (surname not publicly listed), Peyton ‘Tettles’ Tettleton and Alex ‘Xyronic’ Tatge.

Fans can earn the same Violet Sweatsuit transmog set by watching the event on Twitch or YouTube. Raider.IO hosts the complete list of qualified teams.

The AWC and MDI Grand Finals will serve as the concluding events for The War Within Season 3, capping off several weeks of competition across PvP and PvE. It’s taking the action to BlizzCon 2026.
