Goldenglue reveals how he picked Sentinels’ new ‘cracked’ LCS roster

Sentinels has revealed its League of Legends roster after joining the LCS for the 2026 season.

This is the organisation’s first time heading back to the LCS since being called Phoenix1 back in 2017. Head Coach Gregory ‘Goldenglue’ Gilmer shared the new roster on December 4th, stating that there is a mixture of ‘young, cracked’ players and ‘experienced veterans.’

On X (formerly Twitter), Sentinels shared its new roster going into the LCS 2026 season:

Goldenglue has been a pro player for eight years, competing for teams across North America. He then became a coach, leading 100 Thieves into Worlds two years in a row. Now, Goldenglue is taking on the challenge of becoming Sentinels’ Head Coach.

His first task was putting together a team, and his experience as a player – often competing alongside and against the new Sentinels roster – helped him shape a team of rookies and veterans that he feels will dominate the LCS.

His first pick was Rahel. He called him a ‘threat’ who seems to consistently play well no matter the state of the game. This was the player that Goldenglue wanted to build his team around.

The next player was huhi, a veteran player that he saw as the team’s leader, able to be vocal and call shots effectively. He had competed against huhi in the past and found him to be a ‘good guy’ and a ‘good teammate.’

“He wanted to play with Rahel, so it made sense,” Goldenglue added.

He then scouted out DARKWINGS, a talented NA Academy player that had a lot of room to grow but was already talented. Goldenglue pointed out that he was a midlaner himself, which could allow him to use his experience to help DARKWINGS become ‘the best version he can be.’

Goldenglue then spoke to Impact, who he considers the ‘GOAT of top laners in North America for basically a decade.’ He wasn’t sure that Impact would play for him, but Impact reassured him that he wanted to be on the team – and he wanted to win. This made him a ‘no brainer’ to add.

The team was finished off with HamBak, who competed in the LCK last year. Goldenglue described him as ‘cracked’ multiple times and belives that the Sentinels roster will help him ‘flourish and shine.’ It also helped that Impact and Rahel wanted to play with him.

“I was focused on a team that wanted to play together,” Goldenglue said.

While there is a slight language barrier, Goldenglue reassured fans that Impact and Huhi will be able to translate, but the new South Korean players, HamBak and Rahel, are already taking English lessons.

“I’ve worked with Korean players my whole career. I don’t think it’s a problem,” Goldenglue said. “There’s a lot of exciting things to watch on our roster. We found a really good balance between young, cracked players and experienced veterans. I’m excited to see how it’s going to play out.”

The LCS community is largely excited for the new Sentinels roster, although some felt that it was more of a South Korean roster rather than a North American one. It could very likely shake up the LCS either way, which will begin late January.
