TL;DR

  • Overwatch 2 Season 20 has an all-new battle pass with both premium and free tiers.
  • There are eight tiers in the season 20 battle pass, as is usually the case with each new season.
  • The theme of the Season 20 battle pass is winter, though the Christmas-themed cosmetics have to be obtained separately.
  • Some of the heroes who get skins in the battle pass include Freja, Reaper, and Venture.

Overwatch 2 Season 20 is in full swing, and with it comes a range of new cosmetics, some of which can be found in the battle pass. The season recently dropped, and the overall theme of the battle pass rewards revolves around an icy, winter theme. There are some new Christmas-themed cosmetics, but most of these are locked into separate bundles.

As is usually the case with each battle pass in Overwatch 2, players can opt for the paid-for battle pass, which costs 1,000 Overwatch coins, or they can stick to the rewards in the free sections of the pass. We’ve compiled a full list of every item found in the Overwatch 2 Season 20 battle pass and made note of which rewards are part of the free or paid-for battle pass, so you can decide for yourselves if the pass is worth paying extra for.

Is the Overwatch Season 20 battle pass worth it?

The battle pass has a range of cosmetics that are sure to appeal to a broad audience, but the purchased pass is only truly worth it for players who are invested in the rewards listed above. Skins are usually the main event of the battle pass every season, and the Overwatch 2 Season 20 battle pass skins have a few standouts. Frost Lich Reaper, Colder: 76, and Yukizaru Genji are awesome skins, but fans of the other characters who have received skins will surely enjoy having a new cosmetic item for them. The other cosmetics in the battle pass are fine, but there isn’t anything that stands out as a must-have item.

One of the disappointing things about the Overwatch 2 Season 20 battle pass is that there are very few festive items included, despite it beginning at the height of the holiday season. All the Christmas-themed skins are separate and can be purchased in the shop. Some can also be earned in the Winter Wonderland event. The only way to get a Christmas skin alongside the battle pass is to purchase the Overwatch 2 Ultimate Battle Pass bundle for Season 20. This bundle allows players to skip 20 tiers of the pass, but it also includes 2,000 Overwatch Coins and the High Society Vendetta and Reindeer Tracer skins.

Along with Reindeer Tracer, the other major Christmas-themed skins in Overwatch 2 Season 20 are the Cozy skins, but these have to be purchased with Overwatch Coins. The Overwatch 2 Season 20 skins included as part of the battle pass are more generic in terms of their winter themes, as mentioned, and while they aren’t bad skins, it feels unfair to limit the battle pass to the winter skins rather than including the Christmas cosmetics.

Conclusion

All in all, as is usually the case, the Overwatch 2 battle pass is only really worth it for players who are particularly invested in any of the included skins or other cosmetics. If you are hoping to unlock some Christmas-themed cosmetics, then you’d best avoid the pass altogether. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to pay more if you want any of the new Overwatch 2 Christmas skins, as the battle pass is all icy, winter vibes rather than actual Christmas themes.
