KFC Gaming has announced that it will sponsor a Call of Duty event in the UK called the KFCRoyale, in partnership with Call of Duty UK. The event will be played on Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale game mode, Blackout.

The event will see 16 content creators ‘looking for their duo’ with £50,000 on the line alongside a KFC Black Card. The card entitles the recipient access to nearly unlimited portions of the Colonel’s chicken in its secret mix of 11 herbs and spices.

Whilst the names of the 16 creators is not yet known ‘officially’, however, a quick look at some of the previous teasers for this news does seem to give a list of the following content creators, according to Dexerto, those content creators are, Cyanide, Daithi, Gaz, TommyT, Spratt, Vikstaar, MiniLadd, Marleythirteen, Terrorizer, PsySin, iTemp, MrDalekJD, Zerkaa and CodeNamePizza. As per the Tweet, KFC Gaming promises more details on the event soon.

KFC Gaming has not really shown its hand since launching in 2018, with the accounts only really gaming connection outside of giving out free chicken to gamers is its attempts to get the chicken-lovin‘ colonel into Fortnite via its own skin.

As for Blackout, the game has not had an official esports program, but rather the title has been used as a promotional tool. The most notable example being the Doritos event at TwitchCon.

Esports Insider says: KFC Gaming has been busy since it appeared in 2018, dishing out a bit of modern corporate Twitter banter as long as dishing out its fair share of KFC Gaming meal cheques to UK followers. This collaboration makes a lot of sense and it’s good to see more involvement in UK esports, even if this event is taking place in Call of Duty’s latest mode Blackout, a mode that is not officially an esports title for the game’s developer Treyarch.
