Gaming chair brand Secretlab has entered a multi-year global partnership with Riot Games for a number of the developer’s biggest League of Legends events.

Secretlab’s products will be utilised in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), the Mid-Season Invitational, the All-Star Event, and the League of Legends World Championship.

Secretlab has joined Mastercard and Alienware (announced earlier this month) as a global sponsor for League of Legends’ esports efforts. The gaming chair manufacturer is also partnered with OGN, Cloud9, Team Secret, Newbee, AirAsia, and PGL.

Naz Aletaha, Head of Global Esports Partnerships at Riot Games discussed the partnership: “The best League of Legends athletes require the best equipment. Secretlab’s award-winning chairs offer seating that’s optimized for peak performance and comfort, making Secretlab the obvious choice for top League of Legends players competing for the highest stakes.”

The NA LCS rebranded to LCS in December last year following changes to the EU LCS. The same 10 teams that took part in the competition last year will return as it implemented franchising in 2018, eliminating the promotion and relegation aspects it once utilised.

Ian Alexander Ang, Co-founder and CEO of Secretlab also commented: “Partnering with the world’s most premier esport to provide seating for their global tournaments is exactly what we set up Secretlab to do—creating the ultimate seating experience for gamers through the highest-caliber engineering and using materials of the highest grade. We are incredibly proud to provide our ultra-comfortable chairs to support the standards required by the most skilled League of Legends professional players in the world for 2019 and beyond.”

LEC, formerly known as the EU LCS, appointed DXRacer as its gaming chair partner just a few days ago. The competition has also introduced a franchising model and also counts Foot Locker, AlienwareKia MotorsShell, and Logitech G as partners for the 2019 season.

Esports Insider says: This is a big deal for Secretlab. League of Legends is, obviously, a top esport and its roster of global partners – as well as the partners of its regional leagues – is seriously impressive. Viewing figures for the competitions involved are usually solid so this is a good opportunity to advertise its chairs and sell them to the masses.
