Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile servers will go offline on April 17th.
The game is being shut down almost a year after the publisher ended support back in May 2025, pulling the mobile battle royale from Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
In the FAQ section of Activision’s statement, the publisher shared that the game did not meet “expectations with mobile-first players.” It’s worth noting that while the battle royale is being taken offline, Activision will continue to bring updates to its other iOS and Android title, Call of Duty: Mobile.
As it stands, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is not available to new players following its removal from storefronts. Furthermore, guest and Activision accounts will lose access to the game and purchased items once servers shut down.
Purchases can no longer be made with real currency, as Activision disabled the feature back in May 19th, 2025. Any remaining COD Points can still be redeemed through the in-game store, though the publisher clarified that refunds are not available for previously purchased content or unused points.
Warzone Mobile was first announced back in September 2022, and launched nearly two years later on March 21st, 2024. The mobile title was released following the success of its PC and console counter-part, Call of Duty: Warzone.
Did Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Have an Esports Ecosystem?
Activision never introduced a major first-party esports circuit for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Instead, the game’s competitive scene mostly saw smaller events hosted by players and third-parties over the years.
Tournaments such as the “RE$TLE$ RAMPAGE!” were listed on websites like Challengermode, while scrims were often organised by players themselves through community channels, including Reddit and Discord.
The battle royale game did not receive the same treatment as other Call of Duty titles, which hold global esports events such as the COD Mobile World Championship and the Warzone Resurgence Series.
