When FC Copenhagen announced their intention to join the world of esports in the middle of December, it came just after Dignitas parted with their CS:GO roster. Reports then came out stating that the two were to join forces.
Today, these reports have been proven correct, as FC Copenhagen announce North. A joint venture between the football team and Nordisk Film, they’re running with said roster.
The joint partnership has hired Jacob “Maelk” Toft-Andersen, former DoTA 2 player and head of Schalke04’s esports division, to run North.

One of the stated goals for North is to acquire more esports players to become “one of the largest multi-gaming organizations.” As of yet their next venture is unannounced, but speculation lies that FIFA 17 will be involved, due to the connection of FC Copenhagen.
The current focus for the team is the ELEAGUE Major at the end of the month, after which they will be attending a fan meet in February.
North’s CS:GO roster is:

Esports Insider says: FC Copenhagen coming into esports is a another sign of growth in the sector. Much more investment is set to come esports over the year, so this is a start to a good 2017.
