DreamHack have announced a partnership with BFGoodrich, an American tire company. They are sponsoring the Dallas leg of the DreamHack Pro Circuit for Rocket League, becoming the official tire partner. The $100,000 (£76,700) tournament will begin on May 31st and will run through June 2nd.

DreamHack Chief Product Officer Michael Van Driel said: “This is such a tremendous time to launch a partnership with BFGoodrich at DreamHack Dallas. There is never a more exciting time to jump aboard the esports phenomenon than during the debut of our festival in a new city — especially one as esports-oriented as Dallas.”

The partnership will feature both in the broadcast and set, presenting the ‘Top 3 plays of the day’ and handing out the MVP trophy at the end of the tournament.

“We are already very active in Texas, and this partnership will help us build relationships with a new audience there,” said BFGoodrich PR Manager, Phil Watson. “Esports enthusiasts want performance and incredible experiences, and that translates well into what BFGoodrich offers its consumers.”

The DreamHack Pro Circuit began in Leipzig last February, with Dignitas taking home 1st place and $50,000 (£38,300). Dallas marks the second of four stops of the tour, with the series culminating on September in Montreal.

The developer of the game Psyonix recently announced a rev-share model earlier this month, with featured teams receiving 30% of the revenue from their esports shop. Their own tournament, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) will host their season 7 finals on June 21st through 23rd.

Esports Insider says: A fitting sponsor for Rocket League, this seems like a smart deal for both parties. While we don’t think we’ll see BFGoodrich tires in the game any time soon, having an American company sponsor an American event makes sense. With famous sports teams taking note of the game, Rocket League is seeing a surge in popularity.
