Alisports, the sporting arm of corporate giant Alibaba, has agreed a ten year strategic esports partnership with the city of Changzhou.

Changzhou City

Changzhou, a city in south eastern China, will play host for the next five WESG events for the next five years. This is in addition to regionals and the world final. The latest World Electronic Sports Games took place in the city over the weekend.

Alibaba has made a sizable commitment to esports and this got underway in spring of last year. Via Alisports the overall aims are to create and host tournaments for all skill levels, create an amazing spectator experience and promote esports on a global level. Essentially this means investing in high quality events and tournaments at a local and international level.

The arrangement with Changzhou will see events popping up at locations such as Citizen Square, the grand theatre and the Olympic centre.

Esports Insider says: China has the potential to be a major player in the world of esports. With the world’s largest retailer getting involved and committing to a partnership with one of the country’s largest cities this is a significant deal for both esports and Changzhou.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
