Over 6 million members have played in ESL Play online cups, and now users will be able to better navigate the platform directly from their Android and iOS mobile devices with the ESL Play App.

Research firm Newzoo has found that watching esports content on mobile platforms is growing steadily, with 43% of esports enthusiasts consuming more than half of the TV/video content on mobile. In comparison, only 24% of the online population tunes in to esports competitions and programming on their phones and tablets.

Philip Heltweg, Product Owner ESL mobile, had this to say: “After responding to community feedback and adding team functionality during the public beta, we are happy to officially release the ESL Play App today. It will make signing up and playing matches on ESL Play easier than ever before, especially for mobile games.

“We will continue to improve the experience by providing better push notifications and profile management in the near future before expanding to include other league types like ladders.”

More than 18,000 players tested the ESL Play App over the past few months during its open beta. Users will have access to the vast selection of ESL Play competitions, with tournaments and cups in 50 different gaming titles. They’ll be able to find and sign up for tournaments, report results, and upload additional media right from the app. It’s also worth noting that additional features are incoming such as map voting, game integration and more. ESL has also stated that it welcomes feedback on the app via [email protected]

Esports Insider says: Newzoo’s discovery that esports enthusiasts are consuming more and more content on mobile is no surprise, and this is a trend that should continue to be on the rise for some time. The ESL Play app has received good ratings so far and with new features forthcoming it’s worth the space on your phone.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
