French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has entered a partnership with mobile game developer Supercell.

The developer – which is behind games such as Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars – has become an official partner of the club in an attempt to promote its titles to PSG’s audience.

To celebrate the partnership, footballers Kylian Mbappé, Neymar Jr, Marquinhos, Angel Di María, Julian Draxler, and Presnel Kimpembe all took part in an announcement video. The footballers are seen playing Supercell’s newest title, Brawl Stars, in the video.

Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer for Paris Saint-Germain discussed the deal in a release“We are delighted to welcome Supercell to the Paris Saint-Germain family. Our two brands share the same global ambition and a young and dynamic identity that appeals to a young audience. With more than 75 million fans on social media, nearly a quarter of them in Asia, the club will help Supercell to consolidate its popularity around the world.”

PSG currently fields teams in Dota 2 (in partnership with LGD Gaming), FIFA, Mobile Legends, FIFA Online, Brawl Stars, and Rocket League.

Manuel Langegger, Marketing Manager of Supercell in Europe also commented: “We are proud to join forces with a club that understands and shares our passion for games, all with the aim of learning from each other’s expertise and experience. We share the same goal of entertaining global audiences by producing innovative, high-quality content. We are delighted to associate our brand with Paris Saint-Germain, a leader in the sports world and innovator in the eSports scene. The club has already set up an eSports team around our game Brawl Stars which we are extremely excited about.”

Esports Insider says: PSG has been increasing its presence within esports rapidly over the past couple of years and this is an interesting step in a new direction. The PSG brand carries a lot of weight in traditional sports, and with players like Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr being used in the announcement video, there’s little doubt that this partnership will be popular with its audience.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
