Games developer The Coalition, together with event organiser PGL, has unveiled details for the upcoming Gears 5 esports program.

The season will be divided into four quarters, each ending with a major international event – Mexico City and San Diego have been announced so far. Similar to previous seasons, the Gears 5 esports program will be open to everyone. It’ll all kick off on September 22nd.

At the end of each quarter, the team with the most Challenger Points in each region, and the winner of the playoffs of each regional ladder, will be awarded travel to the upcoming major event.

Additionally, the best teams in North America, Europe, and Latin America will also have the opportunity to qualify for the Gears Pro League. The league will feature four divisions: North America Alpha, North America Bravo, Latin America, and Europe.

The teams will play each of their opponents twice over the course of six weeks. Following the major event, the worst-placing teams will be forced to re-qualify for their spot in the league.

In April, ELEAGUE and Xbox announced a partnership that would highlight Gears of War esports ahead of the release of Gears 5. ELEAGUE also hosted the title’s first-ever esports tournament, which saw TOX Gaming lift the trophy.

Esports Insider says: It’s great to see an esports circuit that has been put together to cater to players from all backgrounds and skills levels. With the popularity surrounding the launch Gears 5 still booming, it will be interesting to see how its esports scene grows as the year develops.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
