French travel company Voyages-sncf.com has launched an employee initiative with a difference. It has formed Team Loco, an esports team comprised of employees from Voyages-sncf.com and French national rail operator SNCF. 
This is in an attempt to “attract and retain the best digital Generation Y and Millennial talent to the leading e-commerce travel organisation.”
Team Loco is made up of 17 semi-pros and amateurs who will play titles such as FIFA, Overwatch and League of Legends.
The company has been named amongst Europe’s top companies for employee happiness and this is a bid to ensure that it maintains its top ten position. The company is well regarded for ensuring employee happiness and its I Feel Good program, which went live in 2013, is a part of this. This has included everything from bring your kids to work days, meditation sessions, courses for employees based around their hobbies to encouraging sports and an active lifestyle.
Voyages-sncf.com is providing its team with a dedicated and fully equipped gaming room (as seen here) and has pledged to cover any competition expenses such as registration fees and travel.
