After airing the highest-viewed esports event in television history with the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, FOX Sports has expanded its simulation racing coverage.
Starting on April 1st, the World of Outlaws dirt racing series will mark the beginning of a new weekly broadcast of iRacing events across numerous racing disciplines.

The one-hour broadcast will feature several drivers from the World of Outlaws series, NASCAR, and NHRA drag racing. They will compete in a 35-lap World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car Series race followed by a 50-lap Morton Buildings Late Model race.
Brrad Zager, Executive Producer for FOX Sports, discussed the decision in a release: “The iRacing simulation platform is undeniably the closest thing to real racing we can deliver to our viewers during this challenging time. While the racing may be virtual, the competition and fun are absolutely real, and we’ll use Wednesday nights to explore a variety of virtual racing.”

FOX Sports continues to lead the way in sim racing broadcasting. The second round of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational became the most-watched esports event in television history, with 1.3 million viewers tuning into the race that took place at the virtual Texas Motor Speedway.
Ben Geisler, Chief Marketing Officer for the World of Outlaws, added: “Americans are resilient, dirt track fans more than most, but they are also a proud group. I can’t wait to hear them talking about the sport they love this week, while FOX Sports places it on arguably the biggest stage in sports right now. Our drivers are a determined bunch, they have jumped through hoops to find sim gear and they are putting in 10-hour marathon practice sessions to get up to speed. They will put on a great show.”
Esports Insider says: The interest in sim racing has skyrocketed with the lack of real-world racing taking place. Now with a large audience on mainstream TV, expect this weekly show to highlight some of the more unique offerings that sim racing has to offer.
