Dota Professional League (DPL) and Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association (CDA) are set to join forces.

The DPL-CDA has been formed to consolidate competitions after a substantial increase in Dota 2 tournaments has hit China. After the coronavirus pandemic wiped much the esports calendar, Chinese organisations have devised online leagues to fill the gap.

The combined league will come into effect after the ongoing season of the CDA league ends on April 19th, with the seventh iteration of DPL already being cancelled.

Chinese Dota 2 teams come together to establish CDA, with the likes of Vici Gaming, LGD Gaming, Invictus Gaming, Team Aster, Royal Never Give Up, EHOME, Newbee, and Keen Gaming all founding the league.

Mars Media’s official announcement stated: “We, at Mars Media, are very excited to team up with the CDA. Our experience at hosting tournaments and leagues will allow the teams to fully focus on the matches and performance and get the proper training they need for the upcoming LAN events which we hope will resume sooner rather than later.”

The merger between CDA and DPL aims to improve the schedule of professional players and the viewing experience of the fans. Mars Media will share more details about the league in the coming days, according to a statement.

Esports Insider says: Dota 2 fans are eager to see some action with COVID-19 making things harder for tournament organisers. While the DPL-CPA won’t be on par with a Major, the calibre of teams involved should make the league a worthwhile watch.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
