Misfits Gaming Group plans fundraising events with Softgiving

Misfits Gaming Group has announced a partnership with online fundraising platform Softgiving, with plans to use the platform for online charity events throughout 2020.

The first online streaming event will take place between April 16-19th and benefit the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, which is currently assisting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ben Spoont, CEO and Co-founder of Misfits Gaming Group, commented in a release: “Esports has built an incredible community around fundraising, especially during this difficult time, and we’re excited to partner with Softgiving to increase our fundraising capacity across all our teams. We’re doubling down on our efforts to give back by running a variety of charity streams throughout the year and we’re excited to kick things off with Gift of Life.”

In addition to the Misfits Gaming brand, the company is also behind the Overwatch League’s Florida Mayhem and Call of Duty League’s Florida Mutineers. The organisation has another fundraising event planned for May for a COVID-19 charity, with Softgiving providing the platform behind the initiative.

It sounds like Misfits Gaming Group has a full slate of fundraising events planned for the rest of the year in partnership with Softgiving.
