Sports agency VaynerSports has announced the launch of VaynerGaming, a new division focusing on esports athletes and gaming personalities.

VaynerSports was founded in 2016 by Gary and AJ Vaynerchuk. VaynerGaming is the third division of the agency, coming just a week after the agency expanded its services into baseball.

The first client of the agency is Fortnite World Cup victor Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, who originally signed to the agency after winning the inaugural world championship last Summer. The agency recently renegotiated Bugha’s deal with North American organisation Sentinels.

Gary Vaynerchuk, Co-founder of VaynerSports, commented on the expansion in a release: “I have been quietly paying attention to the gaming industry for over a decade, building relationships and following the trends. One of the most exciting things about it, for me, is the gamers themselves. And when I look at the culture, the interest in the sector from other athletes, artists, celebrities – it is enormous. This is a very significant expansion for VaynerSports.”

Alongside the Vaynerchuk brothers is Darren Glover, who has boarded the agency as its gaming division lead. He expressed his excitement surrounding the launch of the agency: “While lucrative, the gaming industry is still the wild wild west and unlike other sports, relevancy is not necessarily tied strictly to performance or wins and losses. I don’t believe anyone has a better ‘secret sauce’ than what Gary and the Vayner ecosystem does for brands, talent, and professional athletes.

@I’m extremely excited to implement that strategy on behalf of esports athletes, gaming content creators, and VaynerSports athletes as we launch a first of its kind agency division.”

Esports Insider says: The launch of VaynerGaming is set to utilise its experience of athlete representation by representing esports players and content creators. With an experienced team on board, VaynerGaming has all the makings to become one of the big agencies in the industry.
