Liga de Videojuegos Profesional (LVP) has announced it has been commissioned by publisher Riot Games to operate the Spanish VALORANT circuit for 2021.
The tournament organiser has previously worked with Riot Games to operate the UK League Championship (UKLC) before the competition was rebranded to become the NLC.

LVP joins fellow tournament organiser ESL as an operator of regional events in 2021. In October, ESL announced that it would organise and operate VALORANT esports tournaments in Thailand.
Despite the VALORANT esports ecosystem still being in its infancy, LVP has already hosted a tournament when the shooter was in beta.
Jordi Soler, CEO of LVP, spoke on being selected by Riot Games in a release: “We are grateful to Riot Games for trusting us to organise the most important VALORANT competition in Spain in 2021. We have been a benchmark in Spain for ten years for our work in the development of the League of Legends scene, among other games, but now we also want to be involved with VALORANT, which is one of the company’s big bets for this year.”

The VALORANT Rising Series will begin in January 2021 with online qualifying tournaments to determine the top eight teams that will qualify for the finals scheduled to take place in November. Depending on the COVID-19 situation, the event will be held in person and the attending teams will do battle for a share of €40,000 (£36,146) in prize money.
Esports Insider says: Given its track record in other titles, Riot Games selecting LVP to operate the Spanish VALORANT circuit in 2021 is a solid choice. After wanting VALORANT to grow organically, Riot Games has been quick to take control of the title’s competitive plans so it will be interesting to see how much the scene will develop in the next 12 months.
