Data platform GRID Esports has announced that the licence of its HomeSweetHome (HSH) CS:GO brand has been officially transferred to Serbian based production team Relog Media.

The tournament has been on hold since May, however, under the new licensing agreement Relog Media will take over the operations of the event, reinstating HSH in 2021 for CS:GO whilst also expanding into Dota 2.

It has also been confirmed that the name of the tournaments will be changed to fit the season, with the Q1 events being titled SnowSweetSnow for both CS:GO and Dota competitions.

Milutin Pecic, CEO Relog Media, commented: “We are very proud to be pushing forwards into further events and take over the HomeSweetHome brand. We’ll be pushing content out all year round and supporting the scene by doing so.

“Our team here in Belgrade is excited to be extending our broadcast quality and inventory to further engage with our audience. See you in the new year!”

HSH was a series of tournaments, first launched in March as a reaction to COVID-19, providing CS:GO organisations such as BIG CLAN, Complexity and Heroic with the chance to compete for a $320,000 (~£238,850) prize pool.

Next year’s HSH tournament, which is scheduled to take place in January 2021, has been confirmed by Relog to focus on the European and CIS scene. Nevertheless, the possibility of extending to the Americas and Asia has not been ruled out.

Relog Media has also announced a Q1 prize pool of $500,000 (~£373,200) across six competitions – split evenly between CS:GO and Dota – from January to March. Each title has been provided with $250,000 and the prize pool for all of the tournaments will be distributed across all stages, rewarding every team, not just the top finishers.

This year’s HSH saw over 600 hours of CS:GO content produced across three months. It has been confirmed that Relog Media is looking to increase that significantly, with the firm targeting 500 hours of content per month, mainly due to the addition of Dota into the brand.

Throughout 2021, Relog Media will also be promoting and creating regional broadcasts for HSH as it looks to continue building a ‘community and relationship with teams’.

Esports Insider says: This year’s HomeSweetHome event provided a range of organisations with the opportunity to still compete despite the ongoing global health pandemic. Next year’s event will continue to provide much needed high-level online competitions in CS:GO, whilst also opening its doors to Dota organisations to potentially boost their revenue streams.
