DreamHack Sports Games appoints Scott Steedman as CCO

DreamHack Sports Games has appointed sports industry veteran Scott Steedman as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

According to the release, Steedman will lead all the teams, plus the sales and marketing efforts, of MTG’s sports simulation business unit.

The new CCO joins DreamHack Sports Games after more than 15 years in the sports industry. Some of the companies Steedman has worked for include English football club Southampton FC, TEAM Marketing and Rangers Football Club, among others.

Speaking about his new role, Steedman commented: “I’m delighted to be joining DreamHack Sports Games during a really exciting period for the company. They have already proven how to deliver best in class esports products to traditional sports brands and I look forward to growing this side of the business with the team and introducing brands to the power and innovation of Sports Games esports”

Some of Steedman’s responsibilities will be to build and lead the company’s commercial and marketing teams. Moreover, he will develop a range of commercial strategies intended to create and sell a ‘range of brand partnership opportunities’ across DreamHack Sports Games’ portfolio.

DreamHack Sports Games currently operates a range of FIFA competitions across Europe, these include the eDivisie, eAllsvenskan, and the eSuperligaen. Moreover, the company has also created titles for Rocket League and World Golf Tour.

Esports Insider says: Given that DreamHack Sports Games has been created to enhance sports simulation esports, appointing somebody of Steedman’s calibre is a great hire for the firm. Undoubtedly his experience in the sports industry will be a great asset for the company as it looks to boost the marketability of its current and new properties.
