ESL Gaming Australia, the Australian branch of esports tournament organiser ESL, has announced the opening of three new dedicated esports studios in Western Sydney.
The three studios will be used to broadcast the firm’s ESL ANZ Champs Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) competition.

The studios can be used for remote broadcasts, to host small-scale shows within the studios, and contain the ability to assist in the global productions of large-scale tournaments, such as the ESL Pro League.
Alongside the new studios, the tournament organiser also unveiled details on the 2021 season of ESL ANZ Champs. Qualifiers for its CS:GO league are set to begin on February 13th, with the opening matches of the season taking place on March 8th. All matches taking place will be broadcast from the new studios.

James Fletcher, Product Manager for ESL ANZ Champs, commented on changes coming to the league in a release: “Coming into 2021, we’ve been working on what is the biggest change to the league since its inception in 2015. We see the ANZ Champs as the place where all CS:GO and StarCraft 2 fans can come; whether it’s to watch their favourite teams compete, or simply take part in an interactive broadcast. We’re talking less of the stiff, ‘Sports Show’ vibe and more Twitch chat, memes, and content.”
The development of three new esports studio’s highlights ESL’s willingness to grow Oceania’s esports ecosystem. In December last year, ESL Gaming revealed that it has partnered with Guinevere Capital to form of a new League of Legends pro league for the region. More details on the competition are set to be revealed this month.
Esports Insider says: Despite the dissolution of the Oceanic Pro League (OPL), ESL has continued to support esports within the region. The opening of the new studios is another sign of the organiser reaffirming its commitment to support the ever-growing esports scene.
