The funding is expected to help the company enter into a ‘new phase’, with the esports tournament platform looking to add new game titles and functions, whilst also expanding its ecosystem. Currently, the platform only supports Dota.

Mattias Lövgren, CEO and Co-Founder at Epulze, commented on securing the funding: “Our user base grew rapidly in 2020 and today we offer a world-class digital platform where we can arrange tournaments with the biggest names in esports. With new money in the coffers, we will be able to accelerate growth, and increase awareness of our offering.”

Previous investor Knutsson Holdings also took part in the latest funding round, with the firm increasing its ownership in the company. Throughout the funding round, Vator Securities acted as Epulze’s financial advisor.

The investment comes after Epulze unveiled a partnership with esports service platform VPgame to expand its offerings in the Asian market.

Lövgren continued: “Epulze’s goal is to entertain the world through esports and to allow everyone to share in that special match game feeling where you compete for both honour and money.”

Esports Insider says: The funding secured is a significant milestone for Epulze as it sets its sights on significant expansion in the coming months. With plenty of competition in this particular area of the industry, Epulze is well-positioned to become a healthy competitor in the online tournament platform ecosystem.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
