Alongside becoming the organisation’s title sponsor, the postal company has also been named the partner of Legion Esports’s creator programme.

According to the release, the deal is said to be a ‘hugely significant moment’ for the esports industry in Ireland as An Post becomes the largest non-endemic brand in the country to enter the industry.

Stuart Dempsey, Co-founder and CEO of Legion Esports, spoke on the deal in a release: “We are incredibly proud to welcome An Post Money Mate as Title Partner of the Legion Esports Series and Official Partner of our Legion Creator Programme.

“This partnership is a great vote of confidence in the success of Legion Esports and the growth of gaming in Ireland.”

Legion Esports was launched in January 2021 by the organisers of Irish gaming festival GamerFest, which has hosted a range of online tournaments across FIFA 21, Rainbow Six Siege, and Fortnite.

Conor Barron, Digital Marketing and CRM Manager at An Post, added: “At An Post, we are hugely excited to be involved with The Legion as the first Irish brand to enter a partnership of this size and scale with them.

“We share a keen sense of community with gamers and the gaming industry and we look forward to using this innovative and exciting medium to communicate with them both.”

Esports Insider says: In recent years, esports in Ireland has slowly begun to grow in popularity and Legion Esports’s deal with An Post is certainly a sign of the growth coming to fruition. With the postal service entering the industry, it will be interesting to see whether other Irish companies will follow suit in the future.

As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
