According to a release, the platform will act as a hub for fans to participate in a range of experiences including a ‘path to pro’ program that will enable them to hone their in-game skills. For organisations, the platform is said to allow them to create a ‘scalable revenue channel’ and ‘other gaming monetisation channels’ currently in development.

Roy Geva Glasberg, Managing Partner at AnD Ventures, commented on the investment: “The esports space is already generating billions in revenue, and is growing at a double-digit rate year over year. Our investment in Edge was driven by our conviction in the founders and their vision to bring an exciting new experience to the market of hundreds of millions of gamers.”

Edge Gaming was founded earlier this year by former Israeli special forces officers Asaf Gazit and Omri Gazit. During their time in the forces, they obtained experience in training cognitive skills for a range of situations where a split-second decision could make all the difference.

Asaf, CEO of the startup, spoke about the program in a release: “In our military service, we prepared soldiers for some of the most complicated situations a person can endure. We found that despite the obvious differences, training scenarios for soldiers and for professional Esports players are actually quite comparable.”

Esports Insider says: The funding raised in Edge Gaming’s pre-seed round will make a huge difference as it develops the Edge Academy. It’s an interesting project that has a lot of potential and we look forward to watching it progress!

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
