Lagardère’s existing portfolio of clients in the esports space includes SK Gaming, Unicorns of Love and ROCCAT and the agency has already been behind several deals, including the Unicorn of Love Gerolsteiner deal revealed in February this year.

The collaboration between Lagardère and Splyce will see the team manage sales activity and help assist Splyce in acquiring new partners and sponsors. Additionally, the release states that Lagardère Sports will focus on “expanding and advancing marketing activiities, and developing individual campaign and activation concepts”. The partnership will focus namely on Europe and Asia, as well as global opportunities.

Splyce as an organisation is based in the United States of America. Recently, their only employee working on the business development side left his role citing an unwillingness to relocate as the reason for moving on. As a result, Splyce are understandably light on their feet in Europe despite having a League of Legends team competing in the EU LCS. The partnership with Lagardère makes sense to continue European expansion as well as moving and growing in the burgeoning Asia esports market.

“Lagardère Sports has shown itself to be a market leader in the world of sports marketing and sales, through its numerous top-tier clients around the world,” said Marty Strenczewilk, CEO and Co-Founder of Splyce.

He added: “Further to this, they’ve done great work with the early esports teams they’ve brought on this year, showing that they are more than just talk about what they can bring to our industry. I’m really optimistic about the ability they have to open doors that have previously been almost impossible for an esports team and move the needle in terms of non-endemic esports revenue”.

Moritz Altmann, Senior Director of Esports at Lagardère Sports commented: “Our partnership with Splyce enables us to demonstrate our activities and strengths beyond the borders of Europe, within the Asian market. We very much look forward to this collaboration and to increasing the number of games titles in our portfolio, for instance Starcraft 2 and Rocket League”.

Esports Insider says: Another partnership for Lagardère Sports as they continue their growth into esports. They already represent some juggernauts in the football world, and their esports porfolio is gradually becoming more and more impressive. Best of luck to Marty, Splyce and Lagardère with the deal.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
