ReKTUniversity is one arm of the US based ReKTGlobal which calls itself an esports infrastructure company. This side of the business offers ‘a suite of boutique consulting services to varsity esports programs looking to become and remain competitive’. This includes player and staff recruiting, media strategy, event production and venue retrofitting.
Kevin Knocke, Vice President of Esports at ReKTGlobal, said: “We look forward to helping Harrisburg University and other colleges bring esports to campuses across the nation.
“Through ReKTUniversity, we can help do it all – from recruiting coaches and players, to resource acquisition and setting up programs and tournaments.”
With this partnership Harrisburg University has become the first Mid-Atlantic university and the fiftieth school in the nation to join the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). This is a nonprofit membership association of varsity esports programs at colleges and universities across the United States. Esports will be the first varsity sport for the science and technology-focused university, located between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and the team will compete in League of Legends, Overwatch and Hearthstone, along with a pilot program for NBA 2K.

Esports Insider says: Another US college offering esports scholarships can’t be anything except good news. That there are now fifty universities signed up to NACE is great news to boot, and let’s hope the partnership with ReKTGlobal goes down a storm.
