Branded as Battle on the Strip, the event will take place between October and December. Each month will feature a different game, with the event kicking off with Dota 2. There will also be a cosplay component.

The live finals each month will be held at the SLS Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, which is also the venue for the upcoming Esports and Casino Resorts conference later this month.

The initial Dota 2 finals will take place on October 16 with teams competing for $25,000 (£20,216) in cash and prizes.

UMV Chief Executive Officer, Jon Bukosky said: “We are not creating a new league with Battle on the Strip, but a community-first event by fans of esports for fans of esports.

“UMV is all about lifestyle and creating a premium experience for gamers, both amateur and pro alike. The SLS Las Vegas is an international entertainment destination, and we’re bringing Battle on the Strip there for a premier experience aspirational esports competitors can enjoy.”

Esports Insider says: Las Vegas is fast becoming a home from home for esports fans. It could become something of an esports mecca in the next few years if events continue to pop up there at their current rate.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
