Battlefield 6 already became one of the most popular first-person shooter games you could play in 2025, and for good reason. Developed by Battlefield Studios, the title has already seen plenty of updates, such as adding RedSec, its free-to-play battle royale mode, as well as a Battle Pass that’s already brought new modes and weapons in its first season so far.
As of January 2026, the latest update to Battlefield 6, Season One, is Winter Offensive, back on December 9, 2025. While this was the latest major patch update, there have been some minor patches since then that have shifted the weapons meta. With the constantly shifting meta of Battlefield 6, we’re going to be listing these weapons below in our updated tier list.
Battlefield 6 weapons tier list explained
As of January 2026, over 50 weapons can be used in both Battlefield 6 and RedSec. With plenty to use, we’re going to showcase where each of them ranks in an S to D tier list, as well as explain why some of them are in their specified lists. We’ll be updating this list as more weapons are made available over the coming months.
How our Battlefield 6 weapons tier list was compiled
- S-Tier – Only the strongest weapons in the Battlefield 6 open beta made it into this rank. Each S-Tier weapon has impressive damage and reliable stats.
- A-Tier – This tier is full of reliable weapons, but there are usually better options, especially with the right attachments.
- B-Tier – Perfectly average weapons that you’ll find have both advantages and downsides.
- C-Tier – Not worthwhile as primary weapons, but they can be useful in specific combat situations.
- D-Tier – These weapons aren’t very strong, so it’d be better to look elsewhere for your loadout. D-Tier guns usually output low damage or are difficult to control.
Our tiers currently reflect how we’re ranking Battlefield 6’s weapons that feature from its initial October 10 release, based on stats and our experiences with them.

Battlefield 6 weapons tier list
S-Tier
The 10 weapons in our S-Tier are the ones we recommend most, as they are strong in practically any mode or map. These weapons tend to be the best or among the best for their Battlefield 6 weapons category.
For example, the KORD 6P67, PW5A3, and M4A1 are the best assault rifle, SMG, and carbine, respectively. The KORD is especially known for its high fire rate and its forgiving nature. As of the Winter Offensive update, these are currently the best BF6 weapons.
A-Tier
There are 19 weapons in our A-Tier. This tier holds some of the second or third-best weapons of each category, and while they aren’t the best, they are still reliable picks. Examples include the B36A4 and L85A3, our second and third-best assault rifles, although neither is quite as good as the KORD 6P67.
Some A-Tiers were in S-Tier before the Winter Offensive update, such as the NVO-228E and SOR-300SC. Although this was nearly a month ago, as of writing, it remains the last major update.
Although nerfed, weapons like the NVO-228E and SOR-300SC can still often be found. Just because they aren’t S-Tier, doesn’t mean these A-Tiers aren’t dangerous.
B-Tier
With 11 weapons in our B-Tier, it shows that things haven’t shifted too much since the Winter Offensive update on December 9. Despite the game being relatively young, the weapons meta seems to have somewhat settled in the last month, with B-Tier seeing almost no movement.
This ironically represents the weapons in the tier, with B-Tiers being solid and reliable. For example, the M1014 remains a strong shotgun option, but it can suffer on larger maps by being outranged, as is the nature of shotguns.
Another example is the M433 AR, which boasts a strong fire rate offset by relatively low damage. While its fire rate makes up for it somewhat, it doesn’t overcome this weakness enough to be A or S-Tier.
C-Tier
With only seven weapons in the C-Tier of our Battlefield 6 weapons tier list, it is good to see that there are more viable weapons than not in BF6. That’s not to say these weapons are entirely useless; they can have their moments or shine in very specific circumstances.
Many are sidearms, so naturally aren’t capable of outperforming primary arms. These sidearms, predominantly pistols, are good to go to if you need something to switch to instead of reloading, but lack damage and range. C-Tiers can work better in the chaos of smaller maps, but suffer in larger maps, where greater reliability shines.
Non-sidearm weapons like the M240L simply can’t keep up with other weapons in its category. Sure, it can function well enough in moments, but it is inferior to other LMGs that are simply better options.
D-Tier
The three weapons at D-Tier are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the Battlefield 6 weapons tier list. They can be useful in very specific situations, but just aren’t as reliable as many want them to be.
Sure, pulling out the knife in close quarters can be a lifesaver, but running at someone with that same knife out when an enemy has a top-tier gun won’t end well. The two pistols here don’t really offer too much, and going up against someone with a top-tier rifle or LMG will put you at a disadvantage.
Conclusion
As we head into Battlefield 6’s fifth month, the game is already seeing plenty of updates that are keeping it fresh for new and existing players alike. From new maps and modes to additional weapons, there’s plenty for many to go back to.
With the December 9, 2025, update still being the most recent major patch, it is likely that there will be another one to shake up the meta soon. When that happens, we’ll be sure to update the tier list.
