10. Neon Streets

Neon Streets skin in vibrant pink and blue colours for Mei

Neon Streets is a surprising and different skin for Mei. It’s a little out of character for her, which is why it has to be at the number 10 spot on this list. However, it is one of her best skins despite this, as – oddly enough – it suits her character really well.

Mei is redesigned to look like a cyberpunk-style, neon-coloured, graffiti-raver with this skin, as are the other skins in the Neon Streets collection. Her hair is now blue and pink, and she dons long braids, a face mask, and shorts. Her companion Snowball is also redesigned to look like a large spray paint can. It’s nice to see Mei getting a different outfit, as she often wears large, bulky clothes. The surprisingly fitting style for Mei, along with the neat detailing and bright colours, makes this a great Mei skin choice.

9. Alchemist

Alchemist was released as a battle pass skin that was part of a group of fantasy-themed skins. The skin puts a fantastical twist on Mei’s scientific roots by turning her into a steampunk-style alchemist. She dons mechanical goggles and has potions attached to her hip. Her robotic companion Snowball also gets a steampunkesque makeover. It’s a creative take on Mei’s career as a scientist and expert climatologist, blending fantasy with her career in the Overwatch world and seamlessly integrating her lore with a unique skin.

8. Rainy Day

The Rainy Day Overwatch 2 skin collection is a particularly cute and cosy series of skins that dress several of the Overwatch characters in raincoats and general rainy-day attire, such as rain boots. Mei’s Rainy Day skin is quite rare, as it was only available until March 2025 during a Twitch Drop event where, if players followed the instructions, it could be obtained for free. There is a chance it could come back, but at the time of writing – January 2026 – the skin hasn’t been available since the Twitch Drop ended.

Rainy Day is particularly fitting for Mei due to its cute aesthetics. Mei gets a green-and-yellow colour palette, pink hair, and a frog-themed design, with a cute frog friend sitting on her hood and frog-themed gloves. Even Snowball gets a froggy makeover. Mei is known for being one of the “cuter” female heroes, so this look suits her well. It’s also nice to see Mei get a different kind of weather-themed skin. As her powers are snow and ice themed, that’s usually what she gets for the styles and designs of her skins. A rain theme is a nice change that fits Mei well, making it one of her best.

7. Ecopoint: Antarctica

Mei’s Rise and Shine animated cinematic tells the story of how Mei ended up as the sole survivor of a cryostasis malfunction. One of the outfits that she wears in the short is the Ecopoint: Antarctica skin, which she puts together to escape from the facility. This is a well-made skin that is also thematically relevant to Mei’s lore.

6. Penguin

When it comes to a cute and popular Mei skin in Overwatch 2, Penguin is one of the top picks. Mei’s outfit is redesigned to look like a penguin, including a penguin-faced hood and flipper feet. Snowball has also been given a penguin-like makeover. The skin not only fits in with Mei’s ice abilities, but it also suits her sweet and cutesy persona.

5. Luna

Released in Overwatch 1 as part of the Lunar New Year event, Luna draws on Chinese mythology and reflects Mei’s Chinese heritage. The skin features a red and gold colour scheme with swirling cloud patterns, replicating traditional Chinese dress styles and colour palettes. Mei also gets a hairstyle makeover with this skin, as she dons a more intricate updo done in traditional Chinese style. The cultural significance of Mei’s Luna skin is respectfully done, but it is also designed in a way that suits Mei’s character and design perfectly.

4. Beekeeper

Beekeeper is a cute look for Mei, but it is also particularly creative and well-designed / Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment

One of the more creative Mei skins is Beekeeper, which reimagines her as a futuristic beekeeper while Snowball becomes an adorable bee. Mei’s outfit is transformed into a white beekeeping suit, complete with a futuristic bubble shield that replaces the netting over the face. While there aren’t any ability effects or different animations with this skin, it is still one of Mei’s best thanks to just how unique and well-made it is.

3. Firefighter

Mei’s Firefighter skin is a clever idea that reimagines her as a firefighting hero. This makes a lot of sense, seeing as her abilities revolve around ice. Mei dons a proper firefighter uniform with this skin, including a helmet with a visor, a long jacket and heavy-duty boots and gloves. This is one of Mei’s earliest legendary skins that has been available for her since Overwatch 1 launched, and it still manages to be one of her best in Overwatch 2.

2. Honeydew

Mei is one of the few plus-sized heroes in Overwatch 2, and she gets a chance to show off her curves with the cute Honeydew skin. Mei’s outfit with this skin is themed on the honeydew melon. It has a green, yellow, white and orange colour scheme, and Snowball has been redesigned to look like a melon. The outfit is similar to what a waitress might wear, and this theme is emphasised by Mei’s Endothermic Blaster, which has boba tea bubbles and melon colored liquid inside, suggesting that she is meant to look like a boba tea server. This is a refreshing look for her, as she is usually covered up.

1. Pajamei

Cosy, sweet and reflecting a key point in Mei’s lore, Pajamei is Mei’s best Overwatch 2 skin / Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment

Much like Ecopoint: Antarctica, Pajamei is a direct reference to the Rise and Shine cinematic. With the Pajamei skin, Mei dons the pyjamas she is seen wearing while working in the Ecopoint: Antarctica laboratory. The outfit is modified slightly to reflect her default skin, such as by giving her oven mitts to replace her regular gloves. These changes are barely noticeable, though, as they fit perfectly. The skin is the definition of casual comfort, but it also ties in with the most important element of Mei’s lore, making it the best Mei Overwatch skin.

Conclusion

Not only are these Mei Overwatch skins well-made and suit Mei’s persona, but some of them also have strong ties to her lore, creating a bridge between the gameplay and her personal story. While there are sure to be plenty of Mei skins released in the future, these are currently the best of the best.
