Call of Duty: Black Ops fans are in for a treat, as for the first time, the series is getting consecutive releases. Activision has confirmed the Black Ops 7 game, but hasn’t revealed what the release date for the latest title will be. However, we can speculate based on the release patterns for past games in the franchise.

Historically, Call of Duty titles have been released around the first half of November, but that’s not always the case. For example, the Black Ops 6 release date was October 25, 2025. However, the previous franchise entry, Modern Warfare 3 (2023), debuted on November 10, 2023, and was a direct sequel to the previous year’s Modern Warfare 2 (2022).

The Black Ops 7 Vault Edition will likely feature exclusive access to an operator pack, a collection of skins, and also Battle Pass CP with tier skips.

For Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass users, Activision has confirmed that the game will be available to play on the Black Ops 7 release date itself.

In its description, Activision says the game takes place as the world is on the brink of chaos, which isn’t only ravaged by conflict, but also psychological warfare. It follows the events of Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 2.

The Black Ops 7 trailer begins from the perspective of David Mason as he encounters the CEO of The Guild, a new character named Emma Kagan, before being transported to different places – one looks dystopian while another is futuristic but inverted, ultimately coming face-to-face with the Black Ops 2 character, Raul Menendez.

The campaign might take players through these different worlds, as the Black Ops team led by David Mason, fights an enemy who weaponizes fear.

The Zombies mode is also set to make a return in Black Ops 7 and will continue on the Dark Aether Saga.
