Siege X has only been out for a few months, but Ubisoft is already hard at work adding fresh content to its free-to-play shooter. There are dozens of operators to play, and now another defender is available with a particularly unique gadget.

Players can create laser trip wire rooms using the new Trip Connector gadget, so we’re going to walk you through the most effective ways to use Denari’s ability, along with the strongest weapons in his kit.

Denari is a 38-year-old defender from Switzerland who served in the Swiss Military. He’s a fast operator, but with minimal health, perfect for watching his Trip Connector network from the shadows. Denari is true to his word, so he’s a trustworthy ally in combat.

The main selling point of Denari is his Trip Connector gadget, which creates networks of lasers that slow and damage any enemy combatant that walks through them. We’ve compiled a few strategies for using Denari effectively, including the best way to set up his Trip Connectors.

There are a variety of locations that you can place Denari’s Trip Connectors for effectiveness, but we find them to be most useful near the objective room, either inside the room itself or in a nearby hallway. The goal is to prevent enemies from rushing into the objective room, allowing you to wait out the clock and win by default.

Place each of the connectors far enough away from each other so that they don’t overlap, and make sure to cover windows and doors with a laser to prevent players from entering the room. If defenders can block off the objective room, then that’ll go a long way towards winning the round.

Quite a few operators work well with Denari, but the best is Mozzie. Mozzie’s gadget allows him to gain control of enemy drones, which can then be used to scout out the attacking opposition.

Attackers with drones that can destroy gadgets, such as Twitch, are especially useful against Denari’s Trip Connectors because they can disarm the laser network before the match even begins. As such, countering drones is essential if you have Denari on your side, so teaming up with Mozzie is a smart strategy.

If you’re an attacker, then it’s important to know how to counter Denari should you face off against him. First off, pick attacking operators with drones that can destroy enemy equipment, such as Twitch or Flores. Damage drones let you destroy Denari’s Trip Connectors, allowing you to enter rooms without being damaged by his traps. You can also use destruction abilities to breach holes in walls, so attackers like Sledge are invaluable against Denari.

The Scorpion EVO 3 A1 is Denari’s best gun due to various factors. First, it has three firing modes: automatic, semi-automatic, and three-round burst. Additionally, this submachine gun has an RPM (rounds per minute) of about 1080, so it has an incredibly fast rate of fire.

Though the Scorpion EVO is powerful and versatile, we recommend starting out as Denari with the FMG-9 SMG equipped. The FMG-9 deals higher base damage, and its RPM is around 800, so it’s easier to control and requires fewer shots before an enemy is defeated.

Overall, the FMG-9 is more reliable, while seasoned players will find that the Scorpion EVO is the strongest weapon for Denari overall due to its versatility and large magazine.

Denari has access to the Glaive-12 Shotgun and the P226 Mk25 Handgun. We found the Glaive-12 to be the better of the two because it perfectly pairs with Denari’s Trip Connectors. You can use the Glaive-12 to create holes in walls to offer new lines of sight for Denari’s lasers, opening up potential for new strategies.

The P226 Mk25 is arguably the better gun for dealing damage, but the placement of Denari’s Trip Connectors can completely turn the tide of battle, so the Glaive-12 is more useful in general.

Though the Deployable Shield can be useful when you need to go on defence, the Observation Blocker is easily the best gadget for Denari because it complements the Trip Connector. If you place the Observation Blocker in front of a connector, then enemy drones and CCTVs won’t be able to see them.

Since drones and cameras are essential to countering Denari, visual obstructions are always a plus. Watch out, though, as the Observation Blocker can be destroyed by enemy combatants.

Denari is one of the strongest operators in Siege X, but his usefulness largely relies on the player’s knowledge of his Trip Connectors. Placement is key, and utilising secondary abilities like the Observation Blocker and Glaive-12 are essential if you want to make the most of his kit.

We recommend equipping the Scorpion EVO 3 A1 and Glaive-12 Shotgun for maximum effectiveness. Additionally, pairing Denari with drone-countering defenders like Mozzie is a recipe for success.
