Sophie Goldschmidt has been named as the newest member of the British Esports Association’s Advisory Board.

Sophie is currently Chief Commercial Officer at Chime, and is a seasoned sports executive. In the past she has worked with the likes of Adidas, NBA and the Rugby Football Union.

Discussing her appointment she said: “I am delighted to be joining the British Esports Advisory Board. The fast growth and excitement in the sector has garnered much positive attention.

“When you look at the staggering numbers engaging in esports at various levels the potential impact globally can be very significant. I look forward to working with the Board to help shape the best path forward.”

One of the aims for Goldschmidt joining is that she’ll bring a different perspective and help bring in non-endemic sponsors into British Esports. On the 8th the British Esports Association also published a post detailing what it’s been working on recently. This reportedly includes working with wider media to educate them around esports, membership, visiting potential sites for esports clubs for kids and more. You can read the post in full here

The other British Esports Advisory Board members are Paul Chaloner, Michael O’Dell, Craig Fletcher, Chris Mead, Ryan Hart, Ceirnan Lowe, Josh Williams, Carleigh Morgan and Andrew Nixon.

Esports Insider says: Few sporting business CVs read better than Sophie Goldshcmidt’s and doubtless she’ll be an impactful figure in bringing in non-endemic sponsors to the space.
