Danish side Brøndby IF have announced that their esports players will soon be sitting comfortably after the club reached an agreement with Vertagear for the latter to become its official Gaming Chair Partner.

This arrangement will see Vertagear produce branded gaming chairs that will become official merchandise of the club to be made available to Brøndby fans in the near future. The Californian company, which recently signed a similar partnership with Team SoloMid, will also equip the Brøndby IF Gaming Area at Brøndby Stadium.

Brøndby IF entered esports by way of FIFA and a partnership with Qwatti Esports Agency back in February of this year. They followed in the footsteps of fellow Danish club and neighbours FC Copenhagen who, with Nordisk Film, formed the now successful org North.

Jesper Larsen, Esports Coordinator at Brøndby IF said of the partnership: “We are very pleased that we have signed the deal with Vertagear as our official Gaming Chair Partner. Partnering up with Vertagear gives us an unique opportunity to provide our eSport players and our fans with one of the best gaming chairs on the market, which will also come in use at the newcoming Gaming Area at Brøndby Stadion.

“Vertagear is an important and genuine brand in the esport world, and we look forward to work them.”

Fans will be able to make use of the gaming area and chairs at the club whilst Brøndby’s esports pros will also use these branded gaming chairs during ‘training, streaming and content creation activities’. Vertagear is a known entity in the esports world with alliances with the likes of Echo Fox, Virtus Pro, Misfits, the Capcom Pro Tour, Evo and more.

James Vo, Director of Esports at Vertagear, noted: “We’re very excited to venture into what is a first for us: a partnership with a successful and historical football club. It will be an honour to provide Brøndby IF and their fans ergonomic chairs that are built for the very best with Brøndby’s signature logo.

“We’re looking forward to equipping Brøndby Stadium with our chairs and hope the fans and esports players enjoy the Gaming Area more comfortably on our products.”

Any of those interested in the crossover between sports clubs and stakeholders and the world of esports should look to our next major event; the ESI Super Forum on March 22nd 2018 at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge home in London.

This one day conference will explore the current state of affairs here, the challenges and the potential via a series of panels, workshops, an exhibition zone and ample opportunities for networking between those from both worlds.

Esports Insider says: This is excellent news for Brøndby IF with a recognised and award winning gaming chairs supplier now partnered up in the form of Vertagear. It’s equally a fantastic chance for the US company to reach a new market and demographic with the fans of one of Scandinavia’s top football clubs. Kudos to Qwatti for making the deal happen too.
