SteelSeries has entered into a partnership with PUBG Corporation to release a number of exclusive PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gaming accessories and peripherals, celebrating the game’s one-year anniversary.

Yesterday – March 23rd – was exactly one year on from when PUBG was first released on Steam Early Access. Since then, it has been played at numerous events and the scene is still growing – though many still believe the spectator experience has a way to go yet before it’s spot on.

PUBG, Steel Series

Together with PUBG, SteelSeries has announced the PUBG QcK+ mousepad, with more collaborations set to be revealed over the next few months, too. The mousepad is available for $19.99 (£14.14), featuring the PUBG character logo and coming in at 400 x 400 x 4mm. Today also marks the start of a global campaign ran by the companies, which will see plenty of SteelSeries and PUBG gear given away.

Ehtisham Rabbani, CEO, SteelSeries commented on the company’s latest venture: “This partnership signals the coming of incredible products, meaningful integrations along with creative activities among the PUBG influencer and streamer communities. Together our brands are creating an opportunity for the battle royal community to connect their PUBG obsession with premium gear that is both innovative and designed for competitive esports.”

Shane Rho, Senior Marketing Manager, EMEA of PUBG Corporation also commented: “SteelSeries was the peripherals brand we considered partnering with, because of the tremendous reputation the brand has built over the last two decades. This partnership provides our community with the ability to show off their PUBG pride while using the best peripherals in the industry.”

Esports Insider says: SteelSeries has been around for many years so PUBG has found itself a great partner moving forward. It’s also a good move for SteelSeries, with PUBG blossoming as an esports after only a year of it being released on Early Access.
